About life
About life
After some time you’ll learn the difference between giving a hand and helping a soul.
And you’ll learn that to love does not mean to lean on and that company does not always mean security.
You’ll start to learn that kisses aren’t contracts, nor gifts, nor promises…
You’ll start to accept your losses with your head up high and your eyes looking forward, with the grace of an adult and not with the sadness of a child.
And you learn to build today all your roads, because the land of tomorrow is uncertain when it comes to projects, and the future has the habit of ending in nothing.
After some time you’ll learn that the sun burns if you’re exposed to it for too long…
You’ll accept that even good people might hurt you sometime and you’ll need to forgive them…
You’ll learn that talking can heal the aches of the soul…
You’ll discover that it takes years to build trust and just a few seconds to destroy it, and that you too can do things that you’ll regret for the rest of your life.
You’ll learn that true friendships continue to grow in spite of distance. And that it doesn’t matter what you have, but who you have in life. And that good friends are the family that we allow ourselves to choose.
You’ll learn that we don’t have to change friends if we are willing to accept that friends change. You realize that you can spend good times with your best friend, do anything or doing nothing, just for the pleasure of enjoying their company…
You’ll discover that many times you take for granted the friends that you care about the most and that’s why we should always tell those people that we love them because we’ll never know for sure when will be the last time we’ll see them.
You’ll learn that the circumstances and environment that surround us have an influence on us, but we are the only ones responsible for what we do.
You’ll start to learn that we shouldn’t compare ourselves to others, except for when we want to imitate them to improve ourselves.
You’ll discover that it takes a long time to become the person you want to be, and that time is short.
You’ll learn that it doesn’t matter where you arrived, but where you’re headed - and if you don’t know where you’re headed, any place will do…
You’ll learn that if you don’t control your acts, they will control you; and that being flexible doesn’t equate to being weak or a lack of personality, because regardless of how delicate or fragile a situation may be, there are always two sides.
You’ll learn that heroes are people that did what was necessary facing the consequences.
You’ll learn that patience requires a lot of practice.
You’ll discover that sometimes, the person you expect to kick you while you’re down, may be one of the few that will help you get up.
To mature has more to do with what you have learnt from experiences, than with the number of years lived.
You’ll learn that there a lot more of your parents in you than what you imagine.
You’ll learn never to tell a child that their dreams are silly, because few things are more humiliating and it would be a tragedy if they believed it because you’d be taking their hope away…
You’ll learn that when you feel anger, you have the right to have it; but that doesn’t give you the right to be cruel…
You’ll discover that just because somebody doesn’t love you the way you want them to, doesn’t mean that they don’t love you with all that they have; because there are people that love us but don’t know how to show it…
Not always is it enough to be forgiven by somebody, sometimes you’ll have to learn to forgive yourself too…
You’ll learn that with the severity that you judge others, you too shall be judged and at some point condemned…
You’ll learn that it doesn’t matter in how many pieces your heart was broken, the world won’t stop for you to fix it…
You’ll learn that time isn’t something you can take back, therefore, you should cultivate your own garden and decorate your soul, instead of waiting for somebody to bring you flowers. Then you’ll know what you can really withstand, that you are strong and that you’ll be able to go much further than what you thought you could back when you believed you couldn’t go any further.
And remember, life has value when you have the courage to face it………..
